Marina Shay is a New York–based actor, playwright, and teaching artist whose work spans stage, screen, and new-play development. 

Her recent work includes The Book Club Play at Cincinnati Playhouse, the world premiere of An Old Fashioned Family Murder with Sally Struthers, the one-woman show JBKO, and the indie film Floor, which premiered at the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival. She has also appeared regionally at the Guthrie Theater, Cleveland Play House, Syracuse Stage, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Geva Theatre, Virginia Stage, Capital Repertory Theatre, Gulfshore Playhouse, Trinity Repertory Company, and numerous theaters across the country.

Her New York credits include the Off-Broadway production of Paradise Lost, along with various downtown works including Eurydice and Miss Julie.

On screen, Marina can be seen in Jules (with Ben Kingsley), The Good Fight, and multiple independent films. She is a Best Actress nominee for her roles in Great Expectations (Syracuse Stage) and Secret Hour (Capital Rep), and has developed work with The Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Theater for a New Audience, and Columbia University.

As a writer, Marina creates politically urgent, mythic stories and has several plays and screenplays in development. She is currently in pre-production for her first feature film. As a teaching artist, she has taught Acting, Voice, Shakespeare, and devised theatre at the Hudson Valley Conservatory, the Montclair Academy, and the Speyer Legacy School. She coaches actors privately in NYC.

Marina holds an MFA in Acting from Brown/Trinity Rep.
